We are top of the league by 3 points and face a run of 5 entirely winnable fixtures in the weeks ahead. It's a great time to be a Chelsea supporter, although we are terribly saddened by recent news that the club may be caught up in the player abuse scandal currently rocking English football. All of us fully support investigations by both the league and club to bring truth to the matter, and support whatever punishments are handed down as a result of non-compliance and morally questionable judgments.
Now, on to holiday matters. Our 2016 holiday party will commence on Saturday, December 17th for the fixture against Crystal Palace. We will be playing a Chelsea-themed version of White Elephant/Yankee Swap during the match. We have over 30 great prizes to win and many laughs will be had in the inevitable "stealing" of gifts from one another.
Do NOT bring a gift; instead, they have been pre-purchased and we will be soliciting a $5 per head donation to play, with a portion of all proceeds benefiting the Greater Chicago Food Depository in the spirit of providing those less fortunate proper holiday meals.
