Friends,
2017 is now upon and us and unbelievably we are over halfway through the Premier League season; more incredibly, we have a 7 point lead atop the table! We cannot thank you enough for all of your support this year as we recount our successes:
-The creation of a full-time website (www.chelseachicago.com) -Record number of True Blue/Chelsea in America members registered
-Chapter high numbers for Facebook group members and Twitter followers
-The largest average match day crowds at Hudson’s we’ve ever seen
We have also rolled out additional benefits to all members, regardless of True Blue or Chelsea in America status, to better serve membership in the form of drink and food deals at AJ Hudson’s, as well as a retail discount at Chicago Soccer locations throughout the Chicagoland area. See our website’s Membership page for more information.
With the title charge on yet again, here’s a couple of notes: Membership: Chelsea in America membership is now closed for the 16/17 season, and will re-open for 17/18 in early summer. If you do not have membership, we unfortunately cannot help you with ticketing for the remainder of the season. As always, we encourage you to renew your CIA and True Blue memberships every year, as a way to support the local and national groups, and to avoid any last-minute situations where you would need access to tickets.
Ticketing for Members: Tickets for CIA members are now on sale covering the match vs Manchester City in April. The demand for tickets this spring will be approaching historic levels for our overseas supporters. If you do not have loyalty points acquired (10 required for certain matches,) tickets will be nearly impossible to come by. If you are planning a late spring trip, please contact us ASAP with any questions so we can help you the best we can, or make recommendations for early next season instead.
Pub Attendance: With the title charge comes more weekly interest weekly from supporters and higher attendances on match day - two great things. The pub will become increasingly busier until the end of the season, and we urge you to come each and every week to contribute to the atmosphere; but please keep in mind it’s a shared space when you come out. Allow for extra time if you need tables for friends/family or require your own space to watch. Treat other clubs with respect, even if it is not reciprocated. If any problems with opposition supporters, notify us immediately. Leadership is on the stage for most matches and welcomes newer members to stand in and socialize provided they sing!
Thanks to all and here’s to another title lift come May!
