And just like that, the Premier League is back, and our march to the title starts with a 3-0 win away to Huddersfield! An electric day out at Graystone saw lots of drinks, songs, some raffle winners and tremendous amounts of fun that we'd been missing from our lives the past two months. Cubs pitcher (and Chelsea supporter) Cole Hamels even stopped by to meet some fans outside on his walk over to Wrigley! We have two major announcements for this week: 1) Saturday, August 18th, 11:30a kickoff vs Arsenal is going to be HUGE! Heineken will be stopping by for promos and free beers contributing to an already great atmosphere. But as you may have seen from other posts, Chelsea's new USA-centric social presence, @ChelseaFCinUSA will be live at Graystone live-tweeting the match and also filming us for their first feature on American supporter clubs! This is an unbelievably huge honor for us and an amazing opportunity to show the world why "We Are The Famous!" We ask that you come to Graystone and go about your normal day; wear your normal matchday attire; drink your normal drinks and sing your songs loud and proud as you usually do. Let's show the world the great atmosphere we create every week and in their words why "this is Chelsea country."
2) Our very own Walker Rice is in Chicago battling some serious medical issues at the moment and has been unable to join us at the pub. Working with We Are The Shed and some of our other friends across the pond like the CST, Chelsea Fancast and CFCUK, we've found great support on a GoFundMe to raise money for Walker and his family at this very difficult time.
Most of you may not know Walker and that's intentional - he works behind the scenes to make everyone's Chelsea day out that much better through our flags and banners.
